ABC’s of Air Conditioning
This class is an introduction to air conditioning for non-technical personnel. Topics covered include human comfort, the basic refrigeration cycle, and HVAC equipment and terminology. It’s a good opportunity for your support staff to learn a bit of the technical side of HVAC.

AC1 – Back to the Basics
This class builds on basic air conditioning fundamentals on the newest air conditioning units available. Participants will be introduced to basic air conditioning components and troubleshooting techniques for technical related problems. Discussion will include an overview of system performance checks. Class will use sliding calculators to analyze superheat and sub cooling and temperature drop as well as troubleshooting static pressure and instruction on how to complete the Excel rebate form.

AC2 –Troubleshooting Techniques
This class provides participants with hands-on learning activities related to methods of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Class time will include 20% discussion and 80% hands on trouble-shooting in our updated training lab. Topics covered will include superheat and sub cooling, evacuation, charging and thermostats. Participants will work in teams of two on Carrier and Tempstar models, diagnosing various service calls set by the instructor. Participants must complete AC1 or have 3-5 years of service/install experience. Participants should bring their own base tools.

Thermostats
This class will provide in-depth training on Carrier and Honeywell thermostats. Participants will get hands-on programming and trouble-shooting class time in our newly designed lab. Instructor will walk through proper programming to multiple systems requirements.

Heat1 – Back to the Basics
This class builds on basic furnace fundamentals. Participants will learn
about furnace components, basic electric, venting, and gas pressure issues, use of combustion appliance testing equipment and basic trouble shooting techniques.

Heat2 – Troubleshooting Techniques
This class provides participants with hands-on learning activities related to methods of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components of a furnace. Class time will include 20% discussion and 80% hands on troubleshooting in our updated training lab. Topics covered will include gas adjustments, primary air adjustments, checking static pressure, checking voltage and amperages, pressure drop across heat exchangers, and set-up of furnace control boards. Participants will also use APM, advanced product monitor computer program, to assist with trouble shooting skills and ECM motor simulator usage. Participants will work in teams of two on Carrier and Tempstar models, diagnosing various service calls set by the instructor. Participants must complete Heat1 or have 3-5 years of service/install experience. Participants should bring their own base tools.

Heat Pumps
This class will cover theory, operation, installation and service on the new generation of Carrier air-to-air heat pumps.
